Resort President & General Manager – Dana Bullen
Dana Bullen has served as Resort President & General Manager of Sunday River since September 2004 and brings to the position more than 25 years of ski industry and management experience. Prior to his promotion, Bullen served as Vice President of Partnership Marketing for American Skiing Company where he oversaw corporate partnership programs for the company’s entire network of resorts. A native of Farmington, Maine, Bullen worked his way up the ski business ladder shortly after college, holding various positions at Sugarloaf where he also spent time on the award-winning Sugarloaf Golf Club as their golf pro.
VP of Development – Mark Hall
Mark Hall joined the Boyne Resorts family in 2007 by way of the Intrawest Resort Development Group where he served as the VP of Development and Director of Development since 2004. As VP of Development for Sunday River, Hall is responsible for all aspects of Boyne’s real estate development at both Sunday River and Sugarloaf, from master planning to marketing and sales. Hall’s contribution to Sunday River includes the coordination and the completion of a comprehensive master plan and vision for the 10,000 acres of holdings at Sunday River in 2008. His plans encompass an anticipated 750 units of future development and substantial additional operational amenities. Hall attributes his success to over 25 years of industry experience, including successful careers in architecture and real estate development.
VP of Sales and Marketing – Nick Lambert
Nick Lambert started working at Sunday River in 1996 in the resort’s sales department where he focused on growing college and group business. Several years and promotions later, Lambert moved into a marketing role and led the resort’s advertising and web development programs. In 2007, Lambert was once again promoted to Brand Manager for both Sunday River and Sugarloaf where he developed creative strategies for marketing, advertising, and online initiatives, making him a natural fit for VP of Sales and Marketing for Sunday River.
VP of Food & Beverage – Jim Largess
Jim Largess has led the resort’s food and beverage department at Sunday River since 1989, growing the resort’s culinary experiences to include Dining at The Peak as well as a growing list of specialty ingredients and products from Maine. Largess’ appetite for leadership extends into the surrounding community where he served many terms on the Newry Planning Board and currently serves as a Selectman. He was instrumental in the start-up and operations of the Mountain Explorer transportation system four years ago, and was recently named Volunteer of the Year by the Bethel Chamber of Commerce.
VP of Mountain Operations – Brent Larson
Brent Larson joined the Sunday River family the summer of 2007 after serving as Night Skiing Operations Manager and Snowmaking Supervisor at Sunday River’s sister resort, Boyne Highlands, in Larson’s home state of Michigan. Larson started skiing at age five and has been raised in the ski industry as a racer, ski repair technician, and former Salomon ski test representative. As VP of Operations, Larson oversees the logistics behind producing the most dependable snow in New England year after year.
VP of Skier Services – Jeff Rosenberg
Jeff Rosenberg, who has been in the industry for over three decades, is responsible for retail, rental, competitions and events, lift tickets, guest services, and the new Sunday River Outdoor Center. Prior to accepting this position, Rosenberg held the following positions with the company: General Merchandising Manager for the retail division of American Skiing Company (ASC); Vice President of Retail, Rental, and Repair for the ASC Vermont resorts; Vice President of Skier Services at Mount Snow and Haystack; Resort Retail Director for Sugarloaf and Waterville Valley; and Director of Retail Operations for Sugarloaf. Jeff also worked for Raichle Molitor USA as its Eastern Race Director and spent five years as a coach at the highly successful Carrabassett Valley Academy. Rosenberg is an active member of the Sunday River Ski Club and serves on its Board of Directors.
VP of Finance – Neil Scanlon
Neil Scanlon oversees all aspects of Sunday River’s accounting, including financial reporting and budgeting, general ledger, revenue accounting, lodging accounting, cash, payroll, and accounts payable. During the late nineties, Scanlon served as Division Controller for Sunday River and, later, as an Operations Financial Analyst for American Skiing Company before he became the Director of Finance for Grand Targhee Resort where he was responsible for all finance, accounting, and information technology functions.
VP of Lodging – Karl Strand
As VP of Lodging, Karl Strand has the busy job of overseeing all of Sunday River’s on-mountain lodging as well as managing homeowner relations. Strand started at Sunday River in 2003 as General Manager of the Grand Summit Resort Hotel and Conference Center and before that, served as the VP of Operations for the Crystal Spring resorts in New Jersey. Prior to his journey into the world of hotels and conferences, Strand served as a chef at the world-famous Le Cirque in New York City and was a former Owner and VP of the gourmet fast food business Hey Day.
VP of Human Resources & VP of Perfect Turn – Cathy Witherspoon
Cathy Witherspoon started her career in the ski industry at Sugarloaf more than 15 years ago as a part-time ski coach and in 1995 was promoted to the position of Director of Skier Development. In the summer of 2004, Witherspoon assumed the joint responsibilities for Perfect Turn® and human resources at both Sugarloaf and Sunday River, which she still masterfully oversees today.
