A wedding at Sunday River is both beautiful and fun
Newry, ME (Summer 2012)—Hundreds of married couples can’t be wrong. Hosting your special day at Sunday River Resort is a beautiful, affordable, and fun way to celebrate the most important commitment of your life. The area also provides plenty of activities to create a perfect getaway for all your guests.
“When you’re planning a wedding, it is all about the details,” Emily Bourassa, Wedding Sales Manager at Sunday River, says. “Couples who want to say ‘I do’ in the Western Mountains of Maine want a certain look, feel, and even flavor. Our packages provide an outline that allows couples to customize as they go. We have a dedicated team that will walk them through the planning process to create that special day.”
Starting at only $49 per person, each wedding package combines a wedding day menu featuring regional flavors and ingredients as well as a list of services. Couples wanting to tailor their experience further can choose from the resort’s Signature Services & Magical Moments menu, which includes bridal spa packages, groom golf packages, even use of the on-mountain trolley.
Topping the list of unique offerings is the resort’s Chondola, which provides chairlift and gondola cabin rides to its mountaintop Peak Lodge.
In addition to the Peak Lodge, Sunday River offers venues at two Grand Resort Hotels—the Jordan Grand and the Grand Summit—which, when combined, offer a total of 22,000 square feet of space in addition to their own pools, fitness centers, and spa facilities.
The icing on the wedding cake, so to speak, remains the resort’s location. Sunday River and the Bethel area offer numerous activities to keep wedding parties and their guests entertained with award-winning golf, mountain biking, hiking, and fly fishing.
To illustrate, in the spring of 2012, the Sunday River Golf Club was named the “#1 Public Course in Maine” by Golfweek magazine while Yankee Magazine listed Sunday River as offering the “Best Mountain Park” in New England. The nearby village of Bethel was highlighted in Maine magazine, Down East magazine, and Yankee Magazine as a destination for its unique blend of shops, restaurants, and a historical district perfect for all ages.
