Hiring for the Winter 2017-18 season!

Sunday River's infamous Competitions Department is seeking a Competitions Administrator for the winter season with a September 2017 start date. This is a fast paced work environment requiring the ability to oversee many duties concurrently. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as computer proficiency. This position requires working for prolonged periods in ski/snowboard boots in all weather conditions. 

Job Duties:

  • Organizing, staffing, and facilitating competitions
  • Receiving or creating start orders, assigning bib numbers to competitors, and handing out team bibs to coaches
  • Assigning officials and issuing officials' bibs
  • Attending fall training clinics and scheduling meetings, coaches meetings
  • Organizing a filing system for race administration paperwork
  • Ordering supplies needed for the season 
  • Familiarizing yourself with all timing equipment and software
  • Managing and printing lift tickets for racers, coaches, and volunteers

The Competition department is looking for an Office Coordinator for the 2017-18 winter season, starting in September. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well independently and in a team environment in a professional manner while using good judgment in relating to competition volunteers, athletes, and their parents all with diverse backgrounds. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and must be comfortable using Internet-based registration systems for both athletes and volunteers. The candidate must be available based on scheduling needs, dependable, and willing to be flexible along with a demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically while being enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

Job Duties: 

  • Recruiting and managing competition day volunteers
  • Assisting with volunteer training 
  • Handling athlete registration through online, mail, telephone, and walk-in systems
  • Compiling race day start lists, athlete check-in, and duties associated with being a Race Secretary

The person in this position also manages the entries and scoring for the Local's Challenge Race Series. This position is not an on-snow position but might require you to be outside for extended periods of time.

Cooks

Overview:

Come join our food & beverage team! We're looking for line cooks, breakfast cooks, banquet cooks, and cafeteria cooks to join our teams across the resort. In this role, you'll get to work with a talented group of people in a fun and fast-paced environment. One year experience or equivalent training is required.

Job Duties Include:

  • Prepare and present a variety of foods from the menu as directed by kitchen manager

Job Duties:

  • Solicit, negotiate, and book business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, referrals, networking, etc.) to maximize ticket, golf, and activity revenue to meet/exceed goals
  • Notify/coordinate customer specifications with other departments and quickly, efficiently respond to customer issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects
  • Develop a marketing strategy by analyzing historical, current and future destination/market trends, and creating selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key SMERFEA corporate, business, and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share
  • Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history, ensure future and current quality service, and enhance future prospects
  • Work closely with tickets, Group Service, Lodging, and F&B as well as other departments to communicate service details for group from the sales process through arrival and while in resort
  • Cover 1-2 shifts dorm onsite manager weekly on average based on dorm occupancy
  • Optional lodging on-site housing provided as part of compensation package

Nail Technician

Seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic team player to join the Health Spa Team as a Licensed Nail Technician! 
The Nail Technician position is responsible for maintaining a comfortable, professional atmosphere while offering various specialized services that help client's look and feel their best.  They will be required to work specifically on nails and provide manicures, pedicures and polishing to clients.   The nail technician must limit the resort's liability by always acting in a professional and highly ethical manner. Volunteer- Mountain Host

Sunday River is looking for Mountain Hosts Volunteers for the winter season.  First and foremost, the Mountain Host position requires strong skiing or snowboarding skills as well as the ability and willingness to adhere to all safety requirements, policies and procedures of Sunday River.  The Mountain Host responsibilities are  two distinct areas, guest service and education  and  on hill maintenance. The duties of the host are as follows, but are not limited to, maintenance functions of the resort to include, fencing, tower raising and lowering tower pads etc., providing quality guest service to all guests, educating guests on safe skiing and snowboarding and assisting patrol with crowd control, scene safety and answering guests questions.  The Mountain Host positions are volunteer positions and require a minimum day commitment to receive a season pass.
