The hottest bikes to hit Sunday River
Electronic bikes, also known as e-bikes or motor-assisted bikes, are powered by your muscles and--the best part--assisted by the bike's motor. Simply keep pedaling and the motor help ways that your legs muscles may not.
New this summer, eight Specialized Levo FSR 6 Fatties are available to rent through Sunday River Sports ("Fattie" refers to the tire width, which is "fatter" than most street and mountain bikes.).
As one rider noted, "Imagine your best night's sleep ever, followed by 10 cups of coffee at breakfast, and that's what it feels like to ride this bike."
Mondays through Wednesdays, June 5 through August 17, e-bikes are available to rent through Sunday River Sports at the Grand Summit Hotel.
Half-day rentals: $35
Thursdays through Sundays, starting June 29, e-bikes are available for guests to rent from Sunday River Sports in the South Ridge Lodge.

E-bikes are perfect for paths and roads but are not suitable for the resort's lift-serviced downhill mountain bike terrain. For e-biking, Sunday River offers two designated paths--the Summit Path and the Maine Road to Lollapalooza Trail. Additionally, the resort is located near a number of scenic bike-to destinations, including the Artists' Covered Bridge (3 miles from South Ridge), Letter S Swimming Hole (5 miles from South Ridge), and downtown Bethel Village (7 miles from South Ridge).
Summit Path (Approximately 1-mile)
Between the Grand Summit Hotel and South Ridge Lodge is a mellow dirt path for pedestrian and e-bike use. With a little assistance from the bike's motor, you won't even feel some of the gradual hills.
Maine Road and Lollapalooza (Approximately 3.5 miles)
Guests leaving from the Summit Path or starting from the South Ridge Lodge can make their way toward the Jordan Hotel via the Maine Road and Lollapalooza trails which extend from South Ridge to the Jordan Hotel.
*Please note that the Mountain Park and e-bikes rentals will not be open to the public during the River Rock Festival (July 7-8) and Tough Mountain Challenge (July 29), or open on Labor Day / Columbus Day. Please see our Mountain Park wepage for more information on our hours of operation.
