Some like it hot!April 3, 2016
Between the chili and the firefighters, this Spring Fever event is hot, hot, hot. Held slopeside at White Cap Lodge, Eat the Heat includes music, a chili-dog eating contest, firefighters' race, and the famous chili cook-off.
Firefighters from all around New England team up for this fun event to raise money for the Sunday River Community Fund. They race a Giant Slalom course on Lower Tempest in full turnout gear with a fire hose. Last year, the Jay Fire Department of Jay, Maine, remained the reigning champs, with Bethel, Maine, as the runner up and Auburn, Maine, taking third place. Does your firehouse have what it takes to take home the covented trophy? Sign up today!
