Sunday River averages over 167 inches (14 feet) of natural snowfall each year and has one of the most advanced, comprehensive snowmaking systems on the planet, covering 90 percent of the resort's non-gladed terrain. Sunday River owns and operates 2,000 snowguns with the capacity to pump 8,100 gallons of water each minute.
Boundary-to-Boundary Skiing & Snowboarding
Sunday River offers 870 acres of developed trails and glades, however within the boundaries of the resort's ski area, you'll find nearly 2,000 acres of terrain to explore. With boundary-to-boundary access, guests are allowed to ski anywhere within the boundary of the resort with the exception of trails or areas marked as closed.
It is important to note that although these boundary-to-boundary areas are open for skiing and riding, they are not maintained by ski patrol and parties requiring assistance will be charged for rescue costs. Helmets are recommended. Accessing closed terrain—whether by ducking a rope or entering from adjacent areas—will result in loss of your lift ticket or season pass.
Sunday River includes seven terrain parks for every level from beginner to advanced:
T72 is the resort's dedicated 15-acre super park. It features an insane jump line and is also home to the halfpipe and jib park. This advanced/intermediate park is located off of the Chondola and North Peak Express chairlifts.
Superpipe, located parallel to T72's jump line, is the longest in the east.
Jib Park is a large rail garden located in the bottom section of the T72 trail and can be accessed from T72 and Ridge Run from 3D.
3D is a medium-sized park with jumps in the upper section and a collection of jibs and jumps along the center and lower sections. Located on North Peak, accessible by riding upper 3D or cutting across Last Mile from T72.
Flow State, named after the Warren Miller film, is a family-friendly boardercross located on the Rocking Chair trail in Barker Basin. It is accessible via the Barker Mountain Express and the Locke Mountain Triple lifts.
Who-Ville is designed as a fun park geared toward children and families, complete with super small jump lines and beginner boxes. Who-Ville is located on South Ridge and is serviced by the Chondola, the South Ridge Express, and the North Peak Express lifts. Lights line the trail making it available for night skiing.
Wonderland is a start park, built only with extra small snow features to teach beginners terrain park safety. Wonderland is located on South Ridge and is serviced by the Chondola and the South Ridge Express lifts.
