Newry, ME (Summer 2014) - Back by popular demand, the Mountain Bike School at Sunday River Resort will continue to offer lessons this summer to kids and adults looking to learn new skills or take their riding to the next level.
The Mountain Bike School, which opened for the first time last summer, was designed around lessons that help students work on skills and techniques used in cross country and downhill mountain biking. A dedicated pump track serves as the school's beginner classroom.
Classes are available starting Thursday, June 26, and take place Thursdays through Sundays (and holidays including July 4 and Labor Day) until Labor Day Weekend. Following Labor Day Weekend, lessons are available Fridays through Sundays until Columbus Day Weekend. The last day of operation for the Sunday River Bike Park is Monday, October 13.
Classes are 90 minutes and start at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. Guests are asked to arrive to the Sunday River Sports (in the South Ridge Lodge) for their lesson at least 20 minutes prior.
Price is $49 for kids 12 and younger and $59 for adults ages 13 and older. Prices include bike rental, helmet, protective gear, a single lift ride, and instruction.
