Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine is getting into the holiday spirit with its 17th Annual Santa Sunday set for December 4, 2016.
In the name of charity, all 250 pre-registered skiing and snowboarding Santas will join together in a jolly group schuss down one of Sunday River's trails at approximately 10:30 a.m., all while raising cheer and donations for the local Sunday River Community Fund (SRCF).
Participants in this annual event have pre-registered and are asked to donate a minimum of $15 to the SRCF upon check-in. Check-in takes place from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. day of the event.
Once a Santa has successfully registered and made his/her donation, that Santa must check in with Sunday River's event elves while wearing a complete Santa suit including a hat, beard, coat, belt, and pants. Santas are asked to remain in their fanciest reds until after the group photo at 11 a.m.
In addition to being able to give back, participants receive a free lift ticket to use the morning of the event, as well as another lift ticket to use anytime before December 16, 2016. B-roll and high-resolution images will be available to download from Sunday River's online media page after 3 p.m on Dec. 4, 2016: http://www.sundayriver.com/video-and-images.
