L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools Open for Third Season at Sunday River Resort
Programming includes archery, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding.June 13, 2016
NEWRY, ME (June 13, 2016)—Sunday River Resort will host the L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools' only satellite program for a third summer season. Guests can enjoy beginner and group courses in archery, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding starting Monday, June 20.
Operations for the L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools are based out of the resort's Grand Summit Hotel, Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays through August 25. Courses include 80-minute instruction in archery, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding for $25, and 3-hour kayaking tours for $59.
Archery courses take place on the Moonstruck ski trail behind the Grand Summit Hotel, while the paddling courses explore the waterways in the Sunday River region, including Round Pond in Greenwood, the birthplace of L.L.Bean himself.
The L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools program joins the ranks of Sunday River's Mountain Park activities, including mountain biking, scenic lift rides, zip line tours, twin zips, a new 18-hole disc golf course, a climbing wall, and a bungee trampoline. The Mountain Park opens Thursday, June 30, and will operate Thursday through Monday from 10AM to 4PM through September 5, and Friday through Sunday from September 9 through October 9.
