All Treats, No Tricks: Sunday River Resort Opening for One-Day Ski Event on Halloween

The resort will open for passholders for a one-day early skiing experience

Newry, ME (October 30, 2024) – Sunday River is excited to announce a special one-day Halloween ski event, inviting skiers and riders to hit the slopes on October 31 from 10AM-2PM, for an early-season taste of winter.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the resort’s snowmakers, along with last weekend's cold temperatures and one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in North America, the Sunday River team is excited to offer an early-season ski day.

The resort will open for one day for New England Passholders, ticket packs, Ikon Passholders, and the Mountain Collective pass.

Advanced terrain will be limited to the T2 trail, accessible from Barker Mountain and serviced by the Locke Triple chairlift. Costumes will be mandatory for all riding the chairlift, with some special treats in store for those who help celebrate All Hallows’ Eve.

“This is just what we do at Sunday River — we ski, and we have fun,” said Steve Boulanger, Vice President of Mountain Operations.
